The Environmental Resources and Policy (ERP) PhD program within the Department of Environmental Sciences focuses on advanced interdisciplinary training and research on physical, biological, and social processes responsible for natural resource and environmental problems facing contemporary society. The cooperative ERP PhD program in SIUE's College of Arts and Sciences features the following concentrations:

In order for a student to hold a graduate assistantship at SIUE, the student must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher and enroll in at least six credit hours per academic term. The student may have enrollment at SIUE only, or have enrollment at both SIUE and SIUC, as long as the cumulative hours enrolled are at least six. Co-op PhD students who receive graduate assistantship (GA) will receive a tuition waiver and stipend.
