Department of Biological Sciences
Established in the summer of 2011, the doctoral program in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of Texas at El Paso is seeking highly motivated students ready to engage their abilities and complete a Ph.D. in this important field of biological science. A similarly motivated and engaged doctoral program faculty awaits your application to our program.
The University of Texas at El Paso is located in a bi-national metropolitan area of more than 2 million people, surrounded in every direction by biodiverse Chihuahuan Desert habitats. All the amenities of a large city are available, and the open desert beckons beyond its boundaries. However, the EEB program’s research extends beyond the Chihuahuan Desert and the United States-Mexico Borderlands as far across the globe as the rainforests of Africa and the Arctic tundra. Within these extreme environments are the harbingers of global change and the tripwires of biodiversity decline.
