Description

The Department of Aquaculture and Fisheries at UAPB offers the only M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in aquaculture and fisheries in Arkansas. These research-based programs prepare graduates for careers in aquaculture resource management, natural fisheries, and allied industries. The comprehensive program provides students with a broad base of skills, expertise, and practical experience to be competitive for a wide range of opportunities.

Doctoral Research Assistantships are a form of financial aid that allow doctoral students to finance their way through our Ph.D. program at UAPB. They are offered for 4 years and include funds for tuition and fees, medical insurance and living expenses. However, students are responsible for all tuition and fees charged each semester. Students receiving assistantships are expected to work at least 20 hours per week and to be enrolled as a full-time student (6 credits/semester). Students are paid every two weeks.
