School of Environment and Sustainability
- Global Sustainability
- Integrative and Public Land Management
- Sustainable and Resilient Communities
We are different from your typical master's program, offering a project and portfolio tailored to your environmental career vision, a distance exception for bringing in professional and global perspectives, and a commitment to experiential education through our unique block schedule allowing you to focus on one or two courses at a time.
For over half a decade, we have blended distance and residential MEM students to create a dynamic, multi-place, place-based educational experience. Our faculty are uniquely skilled at delivering engaging, project-based courses and meeting community needs throughout the world. We do so through offering unparalleled residential experiences in the Rocky Mountains for those who wish to reside in Gunnison, meeting students learning goals online as they do projects in remote places such as India, Kenya, Nigeria, Columbia, Panama and Paraguay, Yellowstone, Atlanta, and Yosemite (or anywhere you feel engaged!) to implement novel solutions to environmental challenges. Our School of Environment and Sustainability focuses on resilience, adaptation and applying knowledge to enable our students to be change agents.
