Department of Earth and Environment
The Department offers the Ph.D. degree in Earth Systems Science with several majors in Geosciences or Natural Resource Science and Management. Much of faculty and student research in both majors is based in South Florida, the Caribbean region, and Latin America.

Many career opportunities are open to graduates of this program. The Bureau of Labor Statistics maintains an Occupational Outlook for jobs for Atmospheric Scientists, Geoscientists, Hydrologists, Natural Science Managers, Conservation Scientists, and Environmental Scientists.
