Department of Integrative Biology
The University of Texas at Austin has earned an international reputation for excellence in research and teaching in the plant sciences. Current research areas are diverse and across the breadth of plant sciences. They include
- signaling, genes and genomics, and physiology
- ecology and evolution
- microbiome studies in plants and herbivores, from laboratory to ecosystem scales
- use of plants to achieve health, agricultural, and ecosystem goals.
The Plant Biology Program is a consortium of faculty from several Departments of the College of Natural Science. The faculty supervise graduate students in M.A. and Ph.D. degree plans.
The Graduate Program in Plant Biology supports graduate students with grants and assistantships in addition to the resources generally available in the Departments of the College of Natural Science.
